Przybyl, Alice (nee Borycki)

Of Lancaster, NY, formerly of Depew.  Beloved wife of the late Walter Przybyl, Sr.  Loving mother of Susan (Kenneth Berlinski), John, Walter, Jr. (Maria Manno), Anthony and the late infant Julie.  Cherished grandmother of Hope Berlinski, Andra Kuta (Christopher), Jennifer Wilson, Rene Matuzic, Tai English and Sara Petiprin (Scott).  Proud great-gramma of Alivia and Liam Wilson, Noah and Chloe Kuta, Cory Smith, Colin and Hayden English and Corinne and Alaina Petiprin.  Alice was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Julia (Szurma) Borycki and her sister Dorothy (late Samuel) Krol.  She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Eugene and Dorothy Przybyl and many cousins, nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends.

Alice retired from an administrative position at Erie 1 B.O.C.E.S. in 1988, and was previously employed at Westinghouse Electric Corp. and Sattler's Department Store.  With her husband Walter's help, she operated the Alice Guest House at their home on Broadway in the Village of Lancaster in the 1950s and 1960s.  As her family grew, Alice volunteered her time with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, as a lunchtime monitor at St. Mary Elementary School in Lancaster, and as a 4th grade C.C.D. teacher at St. Mary.   She served as Co-Chair of "Polish Week" for the Town of Lancaster's celebration of our nation's Bi-Centennial in 1976.  Alice also helped organize the 60th reunion of her Depew High School Class of 1946, and was a founding member of her "Girls' Club" of Depew High graduates who, together with their husbands and children, socialized for more than 50 years.

Alice and Walter, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary shortly before he passed in 1999, enjoyed traveling and camping with their young family, supporting their children's varied activities, attending Walter's Army Reserve functions, and spending time with their grandchildren.  They traveled to Germany, Austria and Poland in 1983 and again to Poland in 1988 and visited with Alice's relatives in the village of Sufczyce in southeastern Poland.

Family and friends may call Wednesday, January 29, from 3-7 PM at Wendel and Loecher Inc. Funeral Home, 27 Aurora St., Lancaster.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 30, at 9:30 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lancaster (please assemble at the church).  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 1 St. Mary's Hill, Lancaster, NY 14086 or St. Jude Shrine, 975 Ridge Rd., Lewiston, NY 14092    Please feel free to share online condolences at wendelandloecherinc.com.
