Obituary

WATSON, David L.

September 12, 2026

Unexpectedly at the age of 73. Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Marie (Silcox) Watson and his father-in-law, Charles B. Skok. David is survived by his wife Deb Skok Watson; children Taylor (wife Emily), Wyatt (partner Nova), and Wesley (girlfriend Tricia); siblings Bonnie Krantz and Richard Watson; mother-in-law Joanne Skok; brother-in-laws Brian (Kathy) Skok and Russell (Debbie) Skok; many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Proud Godfather to Shawn (Nicole) Skok, and their newborn son, Zachary.

Dave was a true man of service. From building a greenhouse for his wife in the backyard, coaching his son’s basketball teams, to painting scenery for the kids’ school plays, Dave was always happy to help his family, friends, church, and community. There was truly nothing Dave couldn’t fix with a little elbow grease, creative ingenuity, and a few “choice words”. He was particularly proud to help Deb out with an annual garden harvest they could share with friends and family. Dave was the embodiment of a loving father, and provided endless support to his wife and children in all of their endeavors.

Dave was a devoted and loving son-in-law to Deb’s mother, Joanne. He was a patient and caring younger brother to Bonnie and Richard, and a loving uncle. He was a proud member of the self-proclaimed “Army” (no uniform required), a group of lifelong friends dating back to high school.

A faithful volunteer at the Felician Sisters’ Convent, he enjoyed discussing football with the nuns while supporting their mission. As a member of the Lancaster Lions Club, he built eyeglass collection bins which can still be found throughout the community.

He loved to travel, loved football, and loved music, but beyond all else, loved his wife, children, and family.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, November 25, 2026 at the Polish Falcons, 445 Columbia Ave, Depew, NY 14043, from 4pm to 8pm. To honor Dave, wear your favorite Buffalo gear and come prepared to raise a glass in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Felician Sisters Convent (600 Doat St, Buffalo, NY 14211 ATTN: Sister Therese), or the Lancaster Lions Club (https://www.lancasterlionswny.com/). There will be a Lions Club collection bin for new and used eyeglass donations available at the Celebration of Life.
