Obituary

GUMMO  Ivadelle Marie (nee Smeltzer)

Passed away at her home on October 8, 2020

at the age of 92.  She was born April 15, 1928 in the

Altoona, PA area to the late Homer John and Laura Bell (nee Mays) Smeltzer,

and was the youngest of five children, all of whom have predeceased her.

Ivadelle married the love of her life, Marlin Edger Gummo on April 24, 1948.

In 1952, they and their two sons moved to Depew, NY where they added to their

family five daughters.  They were married for 60 years when Marlin passed away

April 4, 2008.  They were blessed with 7 Children: Bill (Judy), Steve, Marilyn(Richard Dukat,

Janice (Alan) Manzer of Phoenix, NY, Luanne (James) Martinic, Beverly Gummo and

Sharleen Scholz, 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Ivadelle will be remembered for her

love for Jesus Christ and her great devotion and loyalty to family.  She will be greatly missed

by her immediate family, from the youngest to the oldest, plus many extended family members

who have always loved and admired her gentle, kind and loving heart.  Ivadelle leaves behind a rich

legacy for all of us to follow.

Her favorite verse of the Bible was: "This is the day the Lord has made.

Let us rejoice and be glad in it."  (Psalm 118:24).  This verse flowed daily from her lips plus written in various places

throughout her home.  She was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church Lancaster, NY

where she faithfully and lovingly prepared the elements for holy communion for many decades.

Ivadelle will be laid to rest next to Marlin at Lancaster Rural Cemetery.  Funeral services were held privately

with the family.  Share condolences at www.wendelandloecherinc.com
