The Lord peacefully took Jeremy Brian Sideris, aged 53, on November 26, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jeremy was born on April 23, 1971, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Mark Sideris and Susan McDonald (nee Ruppert). Raised by his mother and stepfather, Michael McDonald, in a loving home in the close-knit community of Lancaster, N.Y., Jeremy spent his formative years developing an adventurous spirit. During the summers of his childhood and throughout his young adult years, Jeremy lived in New Mexico, where he formed a strong sense of community with his large family and friends. He enjoyed exploring the state's desert and mountain landscapes and immersed himself in the beauty of its culture, food, and architecture.He attended Buffalo State University, earning a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Performing Arts, an M.A. in English from Angelo State University, and a Ph.D. in English from New Mexico State University. During his years at university, Jeremy became a member of the Rho Chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, studied abroad in Germany, and honed his knowledge of music as a disc jockey for a campus radio station.

Jeremy's commitment to education and teaching led him to a fulfilling career as a tenured professor of English at Pennsylvania Western University (PennWest) in Edinboro, P.A., and an adjunct professor at Buffalo State University in Buffalo, N.Y. Two of Jeremy's fondest memories were directing the student writing center at PennWest and heading a cultural immersion program for international students attending Medaille College, where he forged meaningful relationships with students, many of whom have continued to reach out over the years to express their gratitude. He authored three books, published several articles, and presented at academic conferences as additional contributions to education and academia. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping his students reach their potential. He remained eternally grateful for the influence, encouragement, and inspiration of countless family members, friends, and colleagues who were instrumental in helping him attain his goals and dreams.

But more than anything, Jeremy was a devoted husband, father, and son. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges his loved ones faced. Jeremy was a prolific gardener and an avid hiker. He held a deep appreciation of nature and wildlife, painstakingly cared for his precious fur babies, and openly shared his enjoyment of antiquing and thrifting, classic film and art, cooking, eclectic and retro design, history, laughter, and a quirky sense of humor with his family and the world.

Jeremy is survived by his loving wife, TeNeathia Wesolowski-Sideris, his college sweetheart; beloved children, Luke (Las Cruces, NM), Eva (Arcata, CA), and Roderick "Rick" (Lancaster, NY); his mother Susan (nee Rupert) McDonald, stepfather Michael McDonald; father Mark Sideris; stepmother Merlyn Sideris; brothers Patrick McDonald (Lockport, NY) and Marco Sideris (Las Vegas, NV); sister Maia Sideris (Las Cruses, NM); former wife Noriko Sideris (Buffalo, NY); and nieces and nephews. His memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his late wife, Tyrene Kent-Sideris; maternal grandfather, Robert Ruppert; maternal grandmother, Margaret Ruppert; paternal grandfather, Evdokimos Sideris; and paternal grandmother, Juanita Look.
