Joyce Anne Marie (McMahon) Scherer

Beloved wife of the late John W Scherer and mother of Amy (Phil), John, Gordon (Joanne). Grandmother to Alaina (Brian), Mary, Rachel (Patrick). Great grandmother to Charlotte and Daphne.

Daughter of Audrey and Chester McMahon.

Proud graduate of Bennett High, where she went with her love Jack Scherer. Bryant and Stratton graduate. Her first job was at UB. Favorite job was daytime manager at Sheridan Lanes, rivaled only with being home with her children.

Joyce loved life. Her children, her gardens, the beach, bowling, a good book, music, a game of cards, a nice cold beer. And her cat Clarence.

Her goal was fun. Ever the optimist, her motto: "Worrying is a waste of time."

She was a friend to all she knew.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Amherst 6320 Main St. Williamsville, NY 14221 Saturday May 9, 2026 at 1pm.
