SLAWATYCKI Kathleen V. ( Nowak)  April 28, 1942 – December 27, 2024  Of Lancaster, NY beloved wife of the late Edwin D. Slawatycki; dearest mother of Thomas (Margaret) Slawatycki, Rosanne (Christopher) Ferraro and the late David J. Slawatycki;  loving grandmother of Joshua and Benjamin Slawatycki, Sydney Rose and Jordan David Ferraro; sister of David (Karen) Nowak and the late Richard Nowak; daughter of the late Stanley and late Florence Nowak of Point Breeze; also survived by nieces and nephews.  Family will receive relatives and friends at the WENDEL & LOECHER INC. Kathleen Nowak grew up with her brother David in Kaisertown, daughter of the late Stanley & Florence Nowak of the Point Breeze Hotel, Angola NY. She was a graduate of Stella Niagara Seminary along with Bryant and Stratton Business School in 1962. She married Edwin D. Slawatycki & raised three children, (the late) David, Thomas and Rosanne. Shortly after in 1972, together they took over their family funeral business, Superior Limousine and Slawatycki Funeral Co. to a new location in Lancaster. They did this together until his death in 1984, when she became sole owner of the business. Besides funerals, weddings and proms, she serviced NBC Sports for 18 years. Among some of her clients were Tony Bennett, Bob Costas, Dick Enberg, OJ Simpson during the Super Bowl Era and all of the sportscasters for the Bills games. Mrs. Slawatycki was a member of St. Mary's Church and Lancaster-Depew Chamber of Commerce. She was a charter member of Limousine Operators of WNY and held the position of secretary-treasurer. She was also a bingo volunteer for St. Mary's Church. While managing the business, she had time to be a school bus driver for LCS district.
