Obituary

Andrews-Penny Leigh (nee Hatrick), 76 years old, lived a life defined by love, laughter, and an unbreakable spirit. She was born on November 21, 1949, to Ruth and William Hatrick. A devoted wife of 58 years, she shared a deep and enduring love with her beloved husband, Roger, the love of her life, and her steadfast partner in all things. Through every season of life, they stood side by side, and in her more difficult days, Roger remained her constant source of strength, comfort, and quiet devotion. Their love was a true partnership, marked by loyalty, tenderness, and a bond that only deepened with time.

Proud of her Irish roots, Penny carried her heritage with unmistakable spirit, quick with a witty remark, a knowing smile, and a spark of mischief that could light up any room. She was feisty in the best way: strong-willed, fiercely loving, and never afraid to speak her mind. Her strength and humor left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She was the heart of her family, a cherished mother to five children: Lisa (Craig) Bishop, Tracy (Brian) Schottin, Lauri (Michael) Mucci, Jeremy (Emily) Andrews, and Jessica (Joseph) Russo. She was also a deeply loved grandmother to Colin, Alexis, Erica, Nathan, Jocelyn, Ethan, Joseph, Trent, and William, and a proud great-grandmother to Lucy. Nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by her family, sharing stories, traditions, and laughter that echoed long after the moment passed.

Penny's legacy is one of resilience, warmth, and boundless love. She taught her family to be strong, to laugh often, and to hold tight to good times and memories.

She will be profoundly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew her.

Our family is deeply grateful to the hospice team for the comfort, dignity, and care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the inpatient hospice facility in her honor (Hospice Buffalo). Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Share condolences at wendelandloecherinc.com

Until we meet again, may her laughter and love carry on ahead of us.
