BRANDENBURGER - Richard, Jr.

Richard entered into life on October 1st, 1930.. He was made a child of God through Holy Baptism in March of 1931at the Presbyterian Church in Gardenville, New York. Richard would later confirm his baptismal faith in 1942 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lancaster, New York.

On March 6th, 1953 he married the love of his life Kittie Clyde Mobley. They were blessed with three children Richard, Patty and Robin.

Richard is survived by his daughter Patty (Larry) Rindfuss, Robin (Chris) Bruscino, his grandchildren Richard IV (Christina), Ryan Brandenburger,  Rev. Galen (Jennifer) Purpura, Michael Brandenburger, Chris Bruscino, Justin (Sara) Purpura, Jodi (Kyle) Rehrig and Chandra (Adam) Jagielo and his 16 great-grandchildren. Richard is also survived by his sisters Linda McLaughlin and Bonnie Capozzi; nieces, nephews, and friends. Richard is predeceased in death by his wife Kittie Clyde, his son Richard III, his parents Richard and Florence Brandenburger and his brother Ronnie Brandenburger.

In this life Richard enjoyed spending his time with his family, helping out in whatever way he could, he loved the time he was blessed to spend in Florida at his Home in Timber Greens.  Richard served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Navy. He was assigned to the USS. Mindoro, but always felt a strong connection to the USS. Hobson– which was the original ship he was assigned to, but the navy re-assigned him before it left the shore of Charleston, SC.  The Hobson would later sink after a collision with another US. Ship the USS. Wasp.

Richard was a General Line Foreman for New York State Electric and Gas. He retired in 1990. Richard also served as Village Electrician for the Village of Depew for nearly 30 years, he was a two time President of the Lancaster Country Club, and a member of the Lions Club. Richard was an exempt member of the Depew Engine Co. # 1 and was a long time member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Depew, NY.  Richard claimed the victory won by his loving Savior Jesus on December 3rd, 2021. He was welcomed to join all the saints in Heaven.

Family will receive relatives and friends at the St. John's Lutheran Church, 67 Litchfield, Depew, NY, Sunday afternoon from 2-4 PM with
services to follow at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
