Robert Russell (Bob) Turley, December 10, 2025, after a short illness. Devoted husband of The Rev. Deborah L. Turley, father of Robert R. Turley, Jr and Peter M. Turley, stepfather of Jennifer Furnivall Bennet (Michael) and Jacqueline Brown (Corey). Brother of Marcia A. Turley, Paul S. Turley and step-brother of Debbie Kamman and John Turley (deceased). Grandfather of Eric Wallace (Natalie) and Levi Brown.
Bob was a 1973 graduate of U.B. School of Engineering and was a Licensed Professional Engineer since 1978. He served in the New York National Guard for six years and as Adjunct Instructor in the SUNY Buffalo School of Architecture and the University Honors Program. He was a longtime amateur radio operator who enjoyed communicating with other Hams all over the world. He was a member of Mensa and enjoyed recreational mathematics, music, and writing. Bob wrote, produced and directed five murder mystery dinner theatre plays to benefit Lutheran Charities of WNY. Bob was also a member of Harmonie Lodge No.699 F&AM.
Bob and his wife belong to St. John Lutheran Church of Amherst where they enjoyed worshipping together after Debi retired from fulltime ministry.
Bob will be remembered by all who knew and loved him for his generous spirit, sense of humor and encouragement to try again when faced with overwhelming challenges. His grace and faith left their mark on everyone he met.
Family will receive visitors on January 2, 2026 from 3 – 8 PM at St. John Lutheran Church at 6540 Main Street, Amherst, NY 14226. Funeral will be held at St. John on January 3, 2026 at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the Depew Community Center (570 Gould Avenue, Depew, NY 14043).
