Shirley R. Church (nee Richards), 91, passed away on March 7, 2020. Shirley was born on July 3,1928. She was born in Castile, New York to the late Merrill and Edna (Lakin) Richards.

Shirley was a graduate of Silver Springs School in Silver Springs, NY. She was the owner of the Penny Saver in Perry, NY for 15 years. She was also an employee at Bausch and Lomb, R.I.T., and Rochester Community Savings Bank for several years. She was also a professional traveling photographer for many years. Shirley was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, State of New York, Chapter 497 and 555 all her life. Where she held several grand officer positions, including Matron, Chaplin, and several Grand Offices. After retirement, she was an avid foster grandparent who worked for Catholic Charities/ Head Start for over 20 years. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading and playing Skip-Bo.

Shirley was predeceased by her brother Dean Richards.

She is survived by her daughter Debbie Shisler of Clarence, son, Bruce (Bonnie) Church of Perry, NY, sister, Joyce (Larry) Johnson of Ontario, NY, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend Shirley's memorial service on March 21, 2020 at 1:00pm at Akron First United Methodist Church, 7 Church St. Akron, NY 14001.
