98. Beloved husband of the late Ruth M.
(nee Hirsch); loving father of Beverly,
Walter J. (Kathleen), Donna (David)
Francis, and Cynthia Powell; proud
and devoted grandfather of Carter,
Matthew, Ben and Kiah; predeceased
by his parents V. William and Helen
Podlewski (nee Obtulowicz) and
brothers Willam, Sylvester, Stanley and
Joseph Podlewski. Family will receive
relatives and friends at the Wendel &
Loecher Inc. Funeral Home 27 Aurora
St. Lancaster, NY Thursday from
4-7pm. A shared enjoyment of dancing
brought Walter and Ruth together when
they were young and single, and was
something they continued to enjoy
throughout their marriage. One can
easily imagine them smiling and gazing
into each other's eyes as they dance
into eternity. Walt loved the home that
he and Ruth built in Lancaster and lived
in while raising their family. He liked to
plant a large vegetable garden, take
family vacation trips and host extended
family gatherings each year. Walter was
a US Navy Veteran and had worked
as a supervisor at the former Scott
Aviation in Lancaster for many years
prior to his retirement. In lieu of flowers,
