Kotansky, William M. "Bill"
November 15, 1934 - December 15, 2024 Unexpectantly
Beloved husband of 60 years to Mary Alice (Volker) Kotansky. Cherished father of Michael William (VernaAnn) and Steven
John (Katie). Grandfather of Anna (Sean) Bernath, Emily, William Roger and
Antonia Kotansky.  Brother of the late Joan (late Jack) Mosack. Uncle of Anne Kaplan and Robert (Kristen) Mosack.
Bill graduated from Lancaster High School in 1952. He attended the Erie County
Technical Institute (ECTI) and worked at Moog Valve. At this time, he was a
member of the New York State National Guard. He joined his father at Kotansky
Lumber in 1958 where he later became President of The M. Kotansky & Son
Lumber Company. He was a 60-year member of the Lancaster/Depew Rotary Club
where he was the recipient of two Paul Harris Fellows. Bill was also a Life Member
of the Lancaster Elks Club, a past member of the Lancaster Volunteer Fire
Department Protective Hose Company, the Knights of Columbus 3rd & 4th Degree,
a longtime driver for the Lancaster Meals on Wheels and a Eucharistic Minister at
St. Mary's of the Assumption Church for many years.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from
3:00pm - 7:00pm at the Wendel and Loecher Funeral Home 27 Aurora St., Lancaster, NY.  A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, December 20, 2024 at St. Mary's of the
Assumption Church, Lancaster, NY (please assemble at church). Entombment at St. Adalbert's Cemetery Lancaster, NY.
